A former professor of anatomy and physiology explains his theories of creation and challenges religious belief — man’s creation of a nonphysical realm — in this new book released by Dog Ear Publishing.
Exploring the laws of nature used to create life and man’s creation of God forms the basis of this thought-provoking new book written by a retired professor. Donald A. Wheeler starts with the fact that energy can be converted into mass and mass into energy, with neither able to be created or destroyed – a characteristic of infinity. He writes that once life evolved into man, man created God and a spiritual world he deemed necessary. Wheeler analyzes arguments by the religious community that stand against theories of the physical world, concluding that man’s true purpose is not to serve God but to continue the human race.
“The Origin of Life, Man and God in That Order” starts with theories of the evolution of the Earth and early forms of life, and continues with examples of genetic manipulation that back up the realities of the physical world. One by one, Wheeler challenges arguments against evolution and such as missing links and statistical odds. Wheeler contends that the physical, chemical and biological natural laws explain all things, even those questions that have no answer today. He adds that people unwilling to accept this will let superstitious beliefs and illogical behavior rule their lives. Wheeler writes of the danger of relying on faith, becoming “slaves to our imagination,” and neglecting man’s need to continue the species.
Professor Donald A. Wheeler, a former full-time instructor of anatomy and physiology at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, was raised in a fundamentalist environment. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Harding College in Searcy, Ark., followed by a master’s degree in fisheries biology from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and a Ph.D.(ABD) in comparative animal physiology from Kent State University in Ohio.
