Vasile Munteanu Creates New Volume of Poetry Focusing on Remorse

Dog Ear Publishing releases “The Book of Intentions” by Vasile Munteanu.

This new book released by Dog Ear Publishing uses remorse as the overarching idea behind a collection of poems.

Good intentions can lead to wonderful results, but they must have someone ready to take action. When good intentions go astray – or don’t result in action – the result can be remorse, a powerful emotion. In this new book, the author shares 100 intentions related to remorse, including the self-inflicted version of that emotion. The feeling can lead to examination of past selves as well as insights into possible future selves, and Vasile Munteanu explores that concept fully with his intriguing writing.

“The Book of Intentions” addresses emotionally charged topics like lost love, unfulfilled desire, loneliness, missed opportunities and unspoken desire. The selection “Intention 8” features remorse that aches: “Yes doesn’t want to be turned into No, It hurts much more between the letting go.” The haunting words in “Intention 37” showcase the book’s raw emotions: “Words to the mirror bounce back to Earth, And slender differences remain unheard.” Lost love highlights the selection “Intention 79,” which contains this compelling verse: “I would like to know what cannot be told, But my mind is lonely and my thought is cold. I would like to tell what cannot be told, But my lips are silent and my words are cold.”

This is the third book of poetry for author Vasile Munteanu, who also wrote The Book of Aloneness and The Book of Remembrance. Munteanu, who has taught literature and philosophy at the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas, also has published two novels: Godmaker and Chandala. He has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in English from Oakland University in Michigan and a Ph.D. in philosophy, interpretation and culture from State University of New York at Binghamton.
